LUCIA PANDY SARMIENTO On September 12, 2009 Lucia with her family by her side, peacefully passed away to return to her Creator. She will be missed by her sons, Lorenzo, Mariano Pipo (Ellen), Renauld Baby , Ramon and Martin (Ailyn), grandchildren Joseph, Olivia and Katrina, as well as numerous relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Felix, son Oscar, daughter Margarita and sister Maria. Lucia was born on June 25, 1925 in Lukban, Quezon, Philippines. She earned a degree in Education and finished all academic requirements leading to M.A. in Statistics at the University of the Philippines. She worked as a Mathematics teacher and later as an Actuarial Assistant. Although widowed in 1965, as a single mother she raised all her six children to finish their university education and taught them to be God loving and caring human beings. She immigrated to Canada in 1996. Lamay will take place on Thursday and Friday, September 17 and 18 from 6:00 to midnight at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Edwards Roman Catholic Church, 836 Arlington Street, with Father Rainerio Sarce officiating. Viewing will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. also at the church. Interment will take place at a later date in the Philippines.
